Printre caracteristicile tehnice se numără iluminare IR de până la 30 m, WDR de 120 dB, compresie H.265+/H.265/H.264+/H.264, detecție inteligentă a persoanelor și vehiculelor, funcții de detecție facială, microfon încorporat, slot microSD de până la 1 TB, alimentare PoE (802.3af) și protecție IP67. Fizic, cântărește 1 kg și are dimensiunile Φ143mm X 108.4mm.

Milesight oferă pentru MS-CQ8172-HPG1 firmware-ul V63.8.0.6, lansat la 02.11.2026. Fișierul se descarcă direct de pe serverele Milesight; IPCCTV nu găzduiește firmware.

Aceeași versiune de firmware este publicată pentru 22 modele.
